Kristen Helsel defines the business and technical road map for the EV Solutions group
and was recently promoted to Vice President, EV Solutions. She is responsible for
identifying, securing and managing business opportunities in the Electric Vehicle and
related areas that will help to enable the practical and broad use of Battery Electric
Vehicles (BEV’s), Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV’s) and Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles
(PHEV’s). To support EVSE as an integral part of this growing portfolio of opportunities,
AV has developed a “total solution” package that includes:
o Battery Operating/monitoring systems
o On-Board and Off-Board Charging Systems – including bi-directional chargers
o Utility interface systems
o Engineering Services including battery pack design and integration and battery
testing.
o SAE Level III Fast Charge Connector Development
Ms. Helsel began her engineering career at General Motors where she worked in a
variety of positions including design release engineer. Ms. Helsel regularly calls on her
extensive automotive manufacturing and dealer experience to deliver against her OEM
and dealer customers’ expectations. Ms. Helsel has a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical
Engineering from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
